Introduction:-

Before understanding the camber angle you must understand about camber and some technical terms, which are following-

1. Camber:-

The method to make near the point of contact to the line of load is known as camber.

Positive camber angle and negetive camber angle

2. Point of contact:-

Drawn a vertical line of the wheel, where wheel keeping touch with the ground surface this point is known as point of contact.

3. Line of load:-

Drawn a line from center of the king pin this line is known as line of load.

What is the camber angle:-

An angle between centerline of the wheel and vertical line of the wheel, known as camber angle.

Type of the camber angle:-

There are two type of camber angle which are following under-

1. Positive camber angle:-

In this position the wheel is fitted like upper surface of the wheel must look like out side and lower surface is look like inner side and in resulting the point of contact comes near the line of load, that's why it's known as positive camber angle.

2. Negative camber angle:-

In this position the wheel is fitted like upper surface of the wheel is must look like inner side and lower surface is look like outer side now in resulting the point of contact is go far to the line of load.

Requirment of camber angle into the vehicle:-

Normally we cambered the wheel for achieving the top speed and load carrying capacity, and also according to tyre wear the manufacturer fixes the camber into the vehicle.

1. Requirment of negetive camber angle:-

It is used to achieve the top speed of the vehicle. It means manufacturer adjust the negetive camber when the speed is more required.

2. Requirment of positive camber angle:-

It is used for less speed but achieving the more carrying capacity of the vehicle.

How can adjust the vehicle:-

The camber is adjusting by the wheel alignment.
