Four stroke and two stroke engine have some different in working and construction, which are follow-

Four stroke vs two stroke engine:-

Four stroke engine :-

The engine which one complete an otto cycle process in four stroke is known as a four stroke engine. The otto cycle process has completed in 780° in four stroke engine. Every stroke has completed in 180°.

Two stroke engine :-

The engine which one complete an otto cycle process in two stroke is known as a two stroke engine. The otto cycle process has completed in 360° in two stroke engine. In the two stroke engine there are two stroke happened together in same time, it means suction stroke and compression stroke happen together and power stroke and exhaust stroke happens together.

Principle of four stroke vs two stroke engine :-

Basically three principle are applied on four stroke engine these are mention below -

1. Volume decrease pressure increase :-

If we put a disc into a same bore size cylindrical jar so the disc will goes down till the weight of disc and the pressure of gases under the disc become same. After becoming same the disc will stop goes down. This condition is apply in compression stroke.

2. Volume increase pressure constant :-

Now we give some fire under the jar, due to fire the gases become hot and trying to expand and lift the disc to upward, in resulting inside the jar volume increase and pressure constant. This condition apply in suction stroke.

3. Pressure increase volume constant :-

After giving fire under the jar we put some weight on the disc now the hot gases are can't able to lift the disc because of weight but the pressure will increase inside the jar. This condition is apply in power stroke and mostly in in-effective angle.

Advantage of four stroke engine :-

1. Combustion process is good as compare to two stroke engine.

2. Fuel consumption is less as compare two stroke engine.

3. Drive is smooth as compare two stroke engine.

4. Engine vibration is less as compare two stroke engine.

Disadvantage of four stroke engine :-

1. Power output is less as compare two stroke engine.

2. Engine pulling power is less as compare two stroke engine.

3. It is so expensive as compare two stroke engine.

4. There are many parts used as compare two stroke engine.

5. The maintenance cost is more.

Advantage of two stroke engine :-

1. More power output.

2. Pulling power is more.

3. It is cheaper than four stroke engine.

4. Less parts used.

5. Low maintenance cost.

Disadvantage of two stroke engine :-

1. Combustion process is not good because there are many unburnt gases remains in combustion chamber.

2. Fuel consumption is high.

3. More engine vibration.
